Rivers State Neighborhood Safety Corps Agency, rounded up a 5-Day Seminar with the State Commissioner of Police, CP Friday Eboka, and the State Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps in attendance.
Speaking during the occasion which took place at the Alfred Diete-Spiff Civic Centre Complex, the representative of the Commandant, NSCDC, Rivers State Command, Assistant Commandant Oguntuase, advised the operatives to maintain professionally expected operational standards, devoid of insensitivity to human rights, abuse of office, corrupt acts, and upholding the tenets of interagency collaboration, especially in the area of intelligence gathering and sharing with sister security agencies.

The representative of the State Commissioner of Police, ACP Anthony Odita, who is the AC Administration in the State, eulogised the Executive Governor of the State, Chief Barr Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, for his proactiveness in establishing the Agency, especially at this period of the nation’s history when security challenge is the biggest threat to our societal development and the need for locally processed security seem to be the closest solution to tackling the present challenge facing the society.

Further more, he warned the operatives to live up to the expected standard of their Director General, Dr Mike Uche Chukwuma, (ACPrtd) whom he described as an epitome of discipline and a tireless worker who always stood his ground against any issue concerning injustice and corruption during his days as a police officer.
In his address at the serminat the Director General of the Agency, Dr Mike Uche Chukwuma, ACP (rtd),, PSC, FNIPR, JP. admonished his operatives given all they had been taught, both formally and informally, and added to what the “visiting lecturers had added and impacted”, he had nothing more to add than that they should remain patriotic, disciplined, be self contented, shun corruption, high handedness to members of the public, and ensure the watch over the borders I of the State from all fronts and report any unfavorable observation to the Command headquarters and any nearest officially established security post or agency within their immediate reach.
While rounding off the seminar Dr Chukwuma, thanked the Executive Governor of the State, Chief Barr Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, GSSRS, POS (AFRICA), for finding him worthy to serve his State in the capacity he found himself. He said I’m called to operate in a very familiar terrain, promising that he would, with the help and support of all, including community leaders, women organisations, professional bodies,, chiefs, religious leaders across board, the press, and indeed, members of the larger society, succeed in his mission to sanitize the Rivers communities, as he was certain of receiving robust intelligence as they have even started rolling in due to the confidence reposed in him by members of the public most of whom still recall his antecedents in his days as a serving police officer.
He also thanked the Commissioner of Police, Friday Eboka, whom he described as “indeed, a professionally sound, tireless, and humane senior police officer who he said, ” is always ready to pick my intelligence-based messages and calls”, describing the CP instant actions on such intelligence, even at midnights, as “swift”.
On the NSCDC Commandant, he also described him as “a true friend of the people of Rivers State whose response to any information or calls”  by him are always instant.
