Rivers Correctional Service Command, Military in joint show of force

Daniel Efe /Port Harcourt

The Rivers State Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service in partnership with the Nigeria Army, Nigeria Airforce, and the Nigeria Navy organized a show of force.

The Controller of Corrections, Felix Lawrence, led the exercise.

Spokesperson of the Command, Juliet Ofoni, in a statement said the show of force is to sensitize the inmates and communities around the Port Harcourt metropolis, that the Custodial Centre is now a red flag zone.

DSC Ofoni said officials of the Correctional Centers in the state have been on red alert to prevent any attack by hoodlums.

Our Correspondent reports that show of force must be sequel to the invasion by bandits of Kuje Correctional Centre where inmates were set free.
