It was celebration of love for humanity as Apostle Dr. Chubuzor Gift Chinyere, the general overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM) worldwide, commissions OPM free school at Rukpokwu in Obio-Akpor LGA of Rivers state for the training and raising of Nigerian children academically.
The school which is expected to resume in September will Carter for Children from the less privileged member of the society. With provision for Free feeding, free 5 different types of school uniforms including shoes and books will be replicated as it is the case in all OPM free schools.
Speaking at the occasion, Apostle Chinyere said from the millions of naira accruing to the churches on daily basis, it will be share wickedness for any right thinking General overseer of a church not to use part of the money to establish at least a free school in their locality for Nigerians to benefit. But rather he said it is sad that such offerings and tithes are converted to buying of mansions by the General overseers and members of their family.
Church he said is supposed to be for humanitarian purposes with empathy to solving people’s problems and not a commercial venture targeted at inflicting pains on the innocent members of the society. The Apostle further lambasted some church pastors who he said take money from people before counseling, he describes them as thieves and hypocrite.
The school which is equipped with state of art gadgets for learning has about 8 class rooms apartments fitted with air conditioners, library room, science laboratory, recreation center, standby sound proof generator, situated in a serene environment with over 40 qualified teachers.
