Wike Political Enemies Regroup

…As Battle over who Controls Rivers Begins

The stage for now may not be set, but chances are that some political enemies of the immediate past Governor of Rivers state, are now assembling themselves to scuttle things for Barr. Nyesom Wike who is now the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (F.C.T).

In the past months, the former Governor may have fallen out politically with god son Siminalayi Fubara due to perceived differences even though their perceived political differences have witnessed a new dimension.

Although some stories around town have suggested that some loyalists of the incumbent Governor may have started regrouping themselves ahead of 2027 even though the day is still far ahead.

Although, when the political face-off between erstwhile Governor and his political godson started, the political stage took some realignment and political restructuration amongst the PDP families especially among the different political camps for and against.

Somehow, it is very confusing which party the FCT minister is loyal to and putting its political tent even though many may have also suggested that the former governor has been put as a fix mould to scuttle the chances of opposition political parties in the country.

Barr. Nyesom Wike is unarguably a member of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) member, but was appointed a Minister in the All progressive party(APC) led government as a Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (F.C.T), the position that has earned him several accolades and condemnations as well.

But against the face off and provocation, the Governor has remained even more silent and looking promising to deliver on his election campaign promises and silently building his political structures with the help of political enemies of his former political boss.

Just recently, the 10th Rivers state House of Assembly led by Rt. Hon. Martins Amaewhule has threatened to resume an early impeachment notice on Governor Fubara, alleging that the Governor in the recent past has refused to honour the terms of agreement reached in Abuja.

Also, the Governor Siminalayi Fubara ordered an immediate relocation of the legislative business of the state House of Assembly to Government House in Port Harcourt.

The order came about some hours after Victor Oko-Jumbo, a lawmaker loyal to the governor emerged as a new factional speaker of the assembly and a few hours after hours after a High Court in the state barred the pro-Wike speaker and 24 other lawmakers from parading themselves as members of the assembly.

With the circumstances, the Towncrier can reliably say that the battle over who controls the oil rich state has started.
