Why Ibim Semenatari and Rotimi Amaechi Don’t See Eye To Eye

HOW HER LOBBY FOR SUBSTANSIVE CONFIRMATION OF APPOINTMENT AT NDDC SET THEM APART

The former Commissioner for Information and Communications and ex Acting Managing Director Niger Delta Development Commission-NDDC Mrs Ibim Semenatari and her former boss the ex Governor of Rivers state and ex Minister of Transportation Rt. Honourable Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi are not in talking terms anymore, it was gathered that at the last period of her Acting capacity status at NDDC she allegedly tried her best to get substantive confirmation from the Presidency as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, CEO of NDDC but this alleged surreptitious move was uncovered by Amaechi who appointed her in the acting capacity and she was quickly replaced by Obong Nsima Ekere whose management Board was later confirmed by the 8th Senate.

The duo who served Rivers state meritoriously with even development well spread across 23 Local Government Areas, today do not see eye to eye as Mrs Ibim Semenatari was conspicuously missing at the All Progressives Congress Rivers state electoral campaigns for Architect Tonye Cole’s failed Governorship bid.

Apart from the election during the 54th birthday ceremony of Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, Mrs. Ibim Semenatari was not visible even those close to the then Minister of Transportation took various Newspapers advert pages to congratulate him and that of Mrs. Ibim Semenatari was not recorded which allayed fears that all was not well the political relationship between the two political figures.

Mrs. Ibim Semenatari came into Rivers state political firmament in 2009 when she displayed brilliance at South-South Economic Summit held at Tinapa Resorts at Calabar Cross River state where she presented a paper. Although her father, Sir GTG Toby was Deputy Governor to Dr. Peter Odili from 1999 to 2007, while Ibim Semenatari was an award winning female journalist working with TELL News magazine before she moved out with her own journal BUSINESS THIRD EYE with headquarters at Lagos.

She was successful in changing the landscape of information governance in Rivers state with a popular motto ‘Rivers Of Possibilities’ which set that administration on a higher pedestal globally with major international broadcast and print organizations jostling to having  Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi led Rivers state on table as publicists.
