Ahead of Atiku Abubakar presidential campaign rally scheduled to hold in Port Harcourt soon, ‘When Women Wail‘, a support group for Atiku Abubakar 2019, the presidential flag bearer of Peoples Democratic Party-PDP have called on Nigerians to ensure that an efficient and reliable candidate is elected to lead the country in the next election.
Speaking at the inaugural meeting of the Rivers state chapter held in Port Harcourt, the national coordinator of the group, Hon. Hassana Shallangwa, said “the country could not afford to experience what it is passing through under the current administration for another four years”.
She said ”the best and only alternative Nigeria has to address the chronic poverty that it is witnessing under the present government is to vote Atiku, who was a former vice president and successful businessman to take over the mantle of leadership next year”.
Hon. Hassana noted that “members of the group stands to benefit a lot under Atiku Abubakar leadership compared to what they are currently passing through under the incumbent administration, saying, “The PDP flag bearer has been tested, and trusted; and proven to have the capacity, competence and resilience, coupled with his immense business acumen, and enduring ability to rescue our country Nigeria from the ravaging squalor and poverty, insecurity and disunity that has enveloped Nigeria in the past three and half years”.
In her addressed, the Rivers State coordinator, Mrs. Omowumi Aloega encouraged the women to mobilize their members across the local government areas and brace up for the challenges ahead.
Earlier on Rev. Joseph Omaegbu was introduced as one of the Patrons in the State. In his address he encouraged the women to take their place and sustain the tempo in achieving the victory for Atiku Abubakar as the next president come 2019.
The inaugural meeting which was attended with coordinators across the local governments area of Rivers State had guest artiste Matinna treat the women to her musical artistry, while the state executive was being inaugurated by the National Coordinator, which includes, Omowumi Aloega, State Coordinator, Palina Omaegbu, Deputy Coordinator, Felicia Dikibo, PRO, Clarity Nwogu, Campaign coordinator, Emily Herbert, Legal adviser, Mercy Ebenezer, Welfare officer and Onyinye Oparah, Secretary.
