TRANSPORTATION MINISTER CHIBUIKE ROTIMI AMAECHI’S CHIEF SECURITY OFFICER –TONY IWELU IS DEAD

There has been wide spread fake news connecting the Minister of Transportation Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and a kidnapping saga that never was but his Chief Security Officer of over20 years, Tony Iwelu slipped off a bathroom hose and died of electric shock in the domestic accident at a hotel room in Kaduna town Kaduna state while the Minister was on active duty.


www.towncrier.ng can give authentic report on what led to the sudden death of Tony Iwelu at Kaduna Hotel as many distinguished Nigerians had sent condolences to the Minister of Transportation and the Iwelu family. He was said to have passed on by 10:30 am on Monday 17th of February, 2020 in Kaduna , Kaduna state while on duty. He accompanied his boss the Transportation Minister to honour Kaduna state Governor Malam El Rufai who celebrated his birthday over the week end.


Late Mr. Tony Iwelu has been with His Excellency Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi since he won election into Rivers state House of Assembly in June 2nd, 1999 from the Election Petition Tribunal of Rivers state House of Assembly where he was immediately elected as Speaker sworn in for 8-years as Speaker and 8 years as Executive Governor of Rivers state from 2007 to 2015 when he emerged as Minister of the Federal Republic in charge of Transportation since 2015 to date.

In a related incident on 18th of January, 2015 another Chief Security Officer –popularly addressed as Abazi Bazeno Yeigbagha Bayelsa state born former Police Officer who served ex Governor Peter Odili was burnt beyond recognition inside his private bedroom by 8:15am in the presence of his wife and children early Sunday morning in his private estate known as BAZENO PLAZA along Aker Road close to Nigerian Navy-NSS PATHFINDER in Rumuorlumeni Port Harcourt few years after the end of Dr. Peter Odili’s 8-years rule in Rivers state.

The Director General of NIMASA Dr. Adol Dakuku Peterside in his condolences to Minister of Transportation and Tony Iwelu family commiserated with them over the sudden death of late Tony Iwelu who he described as a loyal and humble officer of Department of State Security Services-DSS.
