Great Men are great leaders who are in a category of those who values their subjects, like those around them and grow along with them at any given opportunity. They are the antonyms of leaders who chose to be the head and tail at same time.
They give chances to intellects irrespective of their age, tribes, religion and background to explore themselves to become great.
It’s an established facts that when Bola Ahmed Tinubu was the governor of Lagos State, his cabinet is made of people from different states, young and Olds, and several backgrounds. He assembled people around himself based on competent, capacity and intelligent. Tribe or religion was never his marker to deliver dividend od democracy to the people or transform the state.
Today, we are witnessing same in kogi state, we have people from different state serving under the leadership of the youngest Governor, Gov Yahaya Bello, a man who believes in competent than tribes, religion and background.
Before Gov Bello came on board, the only event the predecessors do send their deputy to represent them is burial or naming ceremony but today the builder of men, Governor Bello have changed the narratives.
We have seen times without numbers where he sent his Deputy Governor, H. E. Chief Edward David Onoja to represent him on Governors’ Forum Meeting and several other key national functions while other governors came themselves.
Governor Bello has given his Deputy the privilege to prove himself and he has never disappointed him nor the Kogites. Today, kogi state Deputy Governor has become the most popular deputy governor in Nigeria.
Following the school of thought of the White Lion also in relation to building Youths, his ever youngest chief of staff, Pharmacist Abdulkareem Asuku has become the most popular and Workaholic Chief Of Staff in Nigeria.
Gov Bello’s Chief Of Staff has been given the opportunities that other Chief Of Staff were deprived of not because he is the most talented or most handsome chief of staff but because he is privileged to serve under a conscious leader and generous leader like Yahaya Bello.
This rare opportunities were given to all his appointees at different level for different assignments and they all performed excellently.
White Lion wouldn’t be that confident to be on the National Tv and be boasting that he has built leaders across the state that can do better than him if he had not given his mentees the opportunity to prove themselves as expected. No objection from any angle whatsoever to counter this claims.
Yesterday, the three popular contestants for the highest office in Nigeria were invited to deliver speech at NBA program held in Lagos State and they all present with the exception of the Mentor, Sen. Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the builder of men, the detribalised Nigeria and the greatest talent hunter that Nigeria ever had among the presidential candidates that gives the opportunity to his Vice Presidential Candidate, Sen Kashim Shettima to prove himself to the world.
This uncommon act has earned Tinubu edge over other candidates, he has proven to us that he didn’t chose Shettima as running mate because of personal relationship, tribe or religion but because of his competency, capacity and his verifiable track records in his state.
And again, we are not going to have “sit-down-look” Vice President while he will be doing all the works, his Vice President will be given chance to play his role at any given opportunity.
Among the candidates that attended the event, Shettima has become more popular than any of them because his Boss gives him chance to prove himself and he did excellently .
Shettima has becomes the talk of the town since yesterday because the Nigerian elites concentrated on his eloquent speech, fundamental points and verifiable facts he reeled out on the program while those soroke children focused on his dressing sense, forgetting that PDP and LP presidential candidate also delivered speech at the program.
As a governor or presidential candidate, you have been known, it can only make sense to give chance to your deputy or vice to prove him/herself.
Before yesterday, I can confidently say 99% of Nigerians don’t know that Sen. Kashim Shettima is the “Golden Boy Of Zenith Bank”
Always allow people around you to prove themselves except if you know you have surrounded yourself with dullards whom you want to be Doing Slavery bids for you rather than growing to become great like you.
