Senator Abe’s Governorship Race Gets Boost: Buhari Endorses Abe For Rivers 2019

There is indication that Senator representing Rivers South East Senatorial District Magnus Ngei Abe is close to clinching the Rivers state All Progressive Congress-APC gubernatorial ticket come October 2018 when the governorship primaries will be conducted. Thus reports coming from the Federal Capital Territory-FCT where the political power brokers are engaged in horse trading indicate that the leader of APC in Rivers state and current Minister for Transportation Rt. Honourable  Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi was summoned at the state House ASO ROCK  Presidential Villa where he was told that based on security report, the Ogonis have contributed much in Nation building as their best brains and National leaders such as Environmental Right activist Kenule Saro-Wiwa, Chief Edward Kobani and others lost their lives in circumstances no-one would wish his worst enemies but their people have not benefited from their lost, hence he should get back to work and make sure that he backs senator Magnus Ngei Abe for the realization of the project unseat Nyesom Wike in 2019 Governorship election in Rivers state. But in his usual character of engaging the security operatives into unnecessary dialogues on his reasons why he may not support Senator Abe for the so called Rivers Project unseat Wike in 2019. Insiders in the meeting who don’t want to be quoted revealed to www.towncrier.ng that immediately Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi finished making his contributions the President announced to everybody in the meeting “Senator Abe is my beloved candidate, Amaechi go and work with him”.

Like a bird flying out from the falling tree, Senator Magnus Abe flew out from the venue of the meeting and realizing that he has no-one like his dad or mother to break the cheering news to he quickly called his sister saying in his Ogoni dialect when translated “I think they said Ogonis will not be Governor of Rivers state, just now I have been endorsed by His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari in a political meeting that we finished now….”. As he dashed into his waiting car and zoomed off to his Abuja official home.  Down in Rivers state especially at Ogoniland there was jubilations everywhere you go as people gathered in their numbers discussing the breaking cheering news from Abuja and like wild fire it spread all over the nooks and crannies even those at Port Harcourt Rivers state capital city were not left out from the feverish moment at senator Abe’s political Camp -the Kairos and various pressure groups affiliated to Senator Abe’s 2019 Governorship race.

While those following Rt. Honourable Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi were in low spirit and did call each other on their cell phones discussing the latest in town and some of drove off to their various secret nest of political meetings inside Port Harcourt. First and worst hit is FREE RIVERS DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES which has Engineer Sampson Ngeregbara the Andoni Rivers state born politician and Chairman whose senatorial ambition is now hanging in the balance. He has not been going round the 23 LGAs launching Free Rivers Development Initiatives with Amaechi as his patron. Other Governorship aspirants in Rivers state APC chapter since the outbreak of President Muhammadu Buhari’s endorsement of senator Magnus Ngei Abe have all remained quiet and clueless in their pursuit of realizing their ambition come October 2018 when Governorship primaries election must have been conducted. Convincingly, only Senator Magnus Abe has established a Governorship Campaign office at 23 Evo Road GRA Phase-1 Port Harcourt Rivers state. Others are applying ‘wait-and –see’ tactics in which case probability is their watch word as they are cautioned by the on-going court case established by 23 LGA congress delegates’ aspirants.

Thrilled by the support of President Buhari, on the 14th of July, 2018 Senator Magnus Abe has now set up a branch of “I STAND WITH BUHARI” a political Pressure group in Rivers state that is canvassing support for the second term re-election of President Buhari which inaugurated on May 7th at Abuja inaugurated 23 Local Government Co-coordinators and on July 14th, 2018 inaugurated 319 Ward Coordinators in Rivers state. In that inauguration proper Senator Abe was represented by the Administrator of Freedom House Abe’s governorship campaign headquarters Mr. Wogu Boms former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice during Amaechi’s tenure as governor of Rivers state. He castigated Amaechi who he described to be a product of the Law whose political career came by the pronouncement of the judgment from the law court as member Rivers State House of Assembly in 1999 and as Governor by the Supreme Court judgment of October 25th 2007. And Wogu Boms wondered how the same person does not comply to the Order of the court when given concerning the Wards, Local Government and State Delegates’ Congresses allegedly held recently. Senator Wilson Ake was the chairman of that occasion and he was quick to admit that Senator Magnus Abe will be Rivers state Governor come 2019 and he carpeted the incumbent Governor Nyesom Wike as he is a misfit governor of Rivers state whose 3-years administration has engaged in dressing of public roads initiated by his predecessor Chibuike Amaechi and lacking in legacy project execution in the last 3-years.
