Senator Abe A Rivers Man To Watch At In 2027

Although 2027 may be still too far for any one to critically speculate on or predict the fortunes of political gladiators in next general elections in Nigeria, the thinking and calculations in politics are usually a different ball game, especially when it comes to the race to control any veritable political structure, especially dislodging incumbents of such offices.

In Rivers State, the political tension in connection with the altercation between the incumbent Governor and his predecessor godfather and his allies, the matter of elongation of tenure of local government councils and their chairmen across the 23 LGAs and the subsequent blockade of the Council Secretariats by the Nigeria Police Force may seem repugnant and worrisome, but these developments are generating palpable vibrations amongst political interest groups, movements and parties across political spectrums, with key players, their supporters and loyalists, and their opponents scampering for relevance and vital allignments.

While political happenings in Rivers State may have taken a serious twist, some former aspirants and candidates of some political parties in the last election in the state, however, may have openly declared their intentions ahead of 2027 to relief the incumbent from his current political office.

This publication gathers that a former Senator from the Rivers South East is vehemently warming up to challenge Governor Siminalayi Fubara if all plans available works out ahead of the time possible in the current machinations to remove the sitting Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara.

Just recently, the 2023 former candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Senator Magnus Abe dumped the Party that afforded him the platform to contest the Rivers Guber seat and defected back to the All progressive Congress (APC) with intention, as political pundits stress, may be strongly in connection with the game plan and ploy of former Rivers Governor, Nyesom Wike to control the major faction of the APC in the State and ultimately oust his estranged political godson from the Brick House.

Our sources reveal that Senator Magnus Abe has, in recent times, been crisscrossing the length and breadth of some Local Government Areas in the State in a bid to fraternize with sundry groups, stakeholders and relevant political juggernuts to oil his political tools and gather sufficient base with which to strike when the time and scenario are ripe.

Senator Abe, a former loyalist of ex Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has been at various times Secretary to the State Government, a legislator, Commissioner for information before moving to the National Assembly for his high political ladder in the country.

However, the scenario and coasting may be somewhat difficult and cmplicated for Senator Magnus Abe as one of his kinsman from the same Senatorial District, Leesi Gborogbosi is already canvassing and strategizing to take over power from Governor Siminalayi Fubara come 2027.

Be it as a it may, only time shall told as events continue to unfold.
