The brilliant pretty looking Medical Doctor turned politician Dr. (Mrs) Doris Fisher-Cowan is now the Director-General of Rivers state Water Corporation Board. The ex Commissioner for Water Resources and Rural Development and ex Chairman of Rivers state Universal Basic (Primary) Education Board-SUBEB was recently inaugurated at Rivers state Government House Port Harcourt.
During the inauguration ceremony Governor Nyesom Ezebunwo Wike charged her to make sure that reticulated Water is provided to most communities in Rivers state as his administration inherited two hundred Million United States of American Dollars USD200Million which came from World Bank. Again two communities in Akuku Toru and Opobo/Nkoro communities had been awarded contract to have portable water provide for them from International Donor Agencies with Rivers state paying counter-fund of over Two hundred Million Naira as a condition of having the project embarked upon.
Dr.(Mrs) Doris Fisher-Cowan is a card carrying member of People Democratic Party-PDP and had once aspired to Represent his people of Rivers West at the Senate but did not get the nod from the then Dr.Peter Odili led PDP from 1999 to 2007.
