RIVERS PDP CRISIS: Ex-Rivers Gov, Federal Lawmaker Attacked

Report reaching us revealed that a former governor of Rivers State Barr. Celestine Omehia and a servicing lawmaker in the House of Representatives Boniface Sunday Emerengwa were within days ago attacked by some gangs members supposedly members of a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Ikwerre Local Government area of the state.

The Town Crier Online has learnt that the attack occurred at the house of the former Governor during a meeting with members attended by some top wigs of the party in the area.

The Town Crier source said, the gang group physically beat the erstwhile Governor and the Lawmaker in the presence of other topnotch of the party in the area even though our source has revealed that the reason for such attacks on the former governor and the Federal Lawmaker was unknown.

But, some political pundits have suggested that the attacks may have arisen as fallout to the upcoming primaries in respect to the Local Government election. Though, no arrest or announcement to this development has been made from any quarters or official statement from the party.

Although a source, who pleaded anonymity, told this Online that the meeting actually progresses, before the gang boys stormed the venue of the meeting –chanting several war songs to disrupt the meeting.
