Rivers Of Trouble: Amaechi, Gov. Wike Renew Fight Over 2019 Presidential Election
The February 16, 2019 presidential election will mark another round of political rivalry between the former Rivers state Governor and now Transportation Minister and Director General president Muhammadu Buhari presidential re-election campaign organization, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and his fellow Ikwerre born lawyer cum incumbent Governor of Rivers State Nyesom Ezenwo Wike who is a leading force in the opposition political party-People Democratic Party-PDP where he has been appointed as south-south campaign Director in the south-south geo-political Zone.
Since the duo parted ways in the 2013 preparation for 2015 General elections, there has been draw-game in the political rivalry debacle as the then incumbent Governor of Rivers state was surreptitiously pushed out from the ruling People Democratic party-PDP by the force led by the then junior Minister for Education and now Governor of Rivers State Nyesom Ezenwo Wike while Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi as Providence would have it fought for his life by joining forces with other political allies to form All Progressive Congress-APC, which eventually removed the then President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan from office being of Wike’s strongest pillar of political support and backbone in the fight against the then sitting Governor of Rivers state Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.
Now in 2019 presidential election the struggle to outwit each other has been much more heightened as Mr. Amaechi is hell-bent in making sure that Governor Wike never returns to Rivers State seat of political power “The Brick House” as he had Architect pastor Tonye Dele Cole as APC Governorship nominee and self acclaimed candidate, while rejecting the candidature of his once political ally senator Magnus Abe who is a contender to the candidacy of APC Governorship primary election now before the appellate court in Nigeria to adjudicate on who is the rightful APC Governorship candidate for the march 2nd, 2019 Governorship election in Rivers state.
Apart from that, the presidential election on Saturday 16th
February, 2019 will bring out result that make or mare the political future of
each other of the Ikwerre born politician.
