Rivers NUJ, Former Rivers State PDP Chairman and Others condole Governor Over death of his Media Aide, Simeon Nwakaudu

Condolences have been pouring in to Governor Nyesom Wike, Governor of Rivers State over the sudden death of Simeon Nwakaudu, his Special Assistant, Electronic Media on Sunday.

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Rivers State Council, has expressed shock over the sudden death of Mr Simeon Nwakaudu, the Special Assistant on Electronic Media to Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.

The Union in a statement jointly signed by the Chairman and Secretary, Stanley Job Stanley and Ike Wigodo respectively, commiserated with Governor Wike and the Nwakaudu family over the untimely loss of their beloved one.

The statement described Nwakaudu as a loyal, hard working and dedicated aide who helped the Wike administration publicise its programmes in no small measure.

Nwakaudu died on Sunday at the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH) after a brief illness.

He was appointed Special Assistant to the governor on Electronic Media in 2015 shortly after Governor Wike was sworn in as Governor of Rivers State.

The NUJ prayed God to give Governor Wike and the deceased’s family the fortitude to bear the loss.

Also, the immediate past Chairman, Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Bro Felix Obuah, has commiserated with the Governor of Wike.

Felix Obuah in his condolence message to the Governor of Rivers State, said: “I received with pain and sadness the news of the death of Mr Simeon Nwakaudu your long time Media Aide.

“For those of us who know you, Mr Nwakaudu was not just an aide; he was a member of your family. He was loyal, friendly and a complete gentleman who carried out his media responsibility with courtesy, dedication and calmness. His sudden death is most painful not only to you, your family and his family, but to all of us who knew him.”

The immediate past Chairman of the PDP who also the Sole Administrator, Rivers State Waste Management Agency, RIWAMA added: “Late Simeon Nwakaudu was a good, courageous and hardworking journalist, who worked dutifully to support and promote activities of the Governor and the Rivers State Government.”

“We pray that your family and family of Late Mr Simon Nwakaudu will be consoled by his life of love, dedication, service and sacrifice”.

Accept my heartfelt condolences.

Also, the Chairman of Etche Local Government Council, Dr. Anyanwu mourn Simeon Nwakaudu, condole Governor Wike, describing the late Simeon Nwakaudu as “A Wonderful Man and Superb Journalist”, the Executive Chairman of Etche condoled with Governor Wike.

Hon. Dr. Anyanwu in a statement conveyed his condolence on behalf of the council and Etche people to Governor Wike and the immediate family of the late Simeon Nwakaudu and pray God to give them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

The Council Chairman said that the late Simeon Nwakaudu was a loyal and dependable aide to Governor Wike and whose contributions had raised up the achievements of the present administration to an appreciable heights.

He said, “Late Simeon Nwakaudu was a great patriot who provided outstanding support to Governor Wike and his administration, who served with dignity, honesty and passion,”.

‘’The death of Simeon Nwakaudu is a sad moment. May Almighty grant him peaceful repose. Our thoughts at this moment are with his family,’’ the statement added.

The Council Chairman noted that in particular, the Governor and the state at large would no doubt greatly miss his intellectual and professional contribution to the government at this time.
The lawmaker Representing Akuku-Toru Constituency II in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Lolo Isaiah Opuende, has condoled Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike over the demise of his Special Assistant on Electronic Media, Mr. Simeon Nwakaudu.
Lolo, in a Condolence message via Facebook , expressed shock over the death of Mr. Simeon Nwakaudu.

The Lawmaker described as “saddening” the sudden death of Mr. Simeon Nwakaudu which occurred on Sunday, 17th May, 2020.
” On behalf of my family and the good people of Akuku-Toru Constituency II, I wish to convey our heartfelt and sincere condolences to you and to his immediate family on this painful loss.
“Indeed, the death of Mr. Simeon Nwakaudu, Special Assistant on Electronic Media to the Rivers State Governor, is a great loss not just to you personally but to the entire Rivers State considering the invaluable contributions and selfless services he rendered to Rivers State,” Lolo said.

The Lawmaker, however, asked the family and the Governor to be comforted by the record of impeccable service that the deceased offered to Rivers State.

The leader of Okrika local government Legislative Assembly, Hon Lazerus Tamunobelemasabo Emmanuel on behalf of the Sixth Okrika Legislative Assembly has commiserated with the Governor.

He also sympathises with the family of the deceased.

The leader of the Sixth Okrika Legislative Council noted that the Late Nwakaudu was a very humble, patriotic and passionate journalist who has contributed immensely to the realisation of the NEW Rivers Vision.

Late Nwakaudu passed on today at the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH), Port Harcourt, after a brief illness.
