HOW RIVERS GOV. WIKE USED MULTI-BILLION NAIRA CONTRACTS TO SETTLE FELIX OBUAH
WHY FELIX OBUAH MAY NOT BE RIVERS GOVERNOR IN 2023
The political terrain in Rivers state is taking a new shape ahead of Rivers state elections in 2019 and subsequently in 2023. The political gladiators who in 2013 worked assiduously to grab power in 2015 in Rivers state are now in the war-situation room planning on how to re-capture BRICK HOUSE, Rivers state seat of political power come 2019 for a 2nd term in office. This is the story of Rivers state Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and his Peoples Democratic Party-PDP state Chairman Brother Felix Obuah who he elevated to play dual roles as Sole Administrator Rivers State Waste Management and Special Adviser to the Governor on waste Management at the same time chairman of PDP in Rivers state.
Currently there is political war going on between their future ambitions in the Rivers state political space. As it was gathered by our Special reporter, prior to 2014 Governor Wike and Brother Felix Obuah entered into gentleman’s Agreement at Abuja when Wike was still serving as a junior Minister of Education that he Felix Obuah should help him Wike to ascend to grab the Governorship ticket of Rivers state in the December 8th PDP Governorship Primary election while he will as well watch his back after his service as Governor of Rivers state. It was in compliance to this agreement that brought about Brother Felix Obuah being appointed Sole Administrator of Rivers state Waste Management Agency-RIWAMA. And since then Brother Felix Obuah has done a lot of political secret deals that had brought stability to the administration of Governor Wike in the past 3- years but now Brother Felix Obuah is no longer finding it comfortable about the political romance that is existing between governor Wike and distinguished Senator Manus Ngei Abe as it regards Magnus Abe supporting Governor Wike to complete 8-years in office as executive Governor of Rivers state while handing over to him Abe in 2023. This plan is against the political ambition of Brother Felix Obuah who is nursing the political ambition of becoming Rivers state Governor in 2023.
At the Rivers state Waste Management Agency –RIWAMA juicy contracts worth multi-billions of Naira are awarded to political cronies who are friends of Governor Wike and as well some are being brought on board by Brother Felix Obuah. Each month these multi-billions of naira are spent in the payment of waste disposal contractors and to some consultants who Brother Felix Obuah regularly meets with in terms of instilling discipline, efficiency and control but Governor Wike going public to castigate RIWAMA’s inefficiency of keeping   four Local Government Areas clean which include Port Harcourt City Council, Obio/Akpor, Emohua and Oyigbo Local Government areas as he warned the Care-taker Committee Chairman in those areas to take over the responsibility of Waste Collection and disposal or risk being removed from office.

In many ways the semblance of good working relationship between distinguished senator Magnus Ngei Abe and Governor Wike started way back in 2007 while Wike was Chief of Staff to Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and senator Magnus Ngei Abe was secretary-To-Rivers state Government –SSG a lot of political business was done by the duo which also stabilized the then Governor Amaechi’s government as regards to security and procurement of two Armoured Personnel Carriers –APC and other fire-arms to assist security agencies fight crime in the state as that time worth Thirty-seven Billion naira-(N37Billion ). This political deal came under security votes and cannot be audited. Towncrier.ng will authoritatively reveal to you that this is part of the common interest political relationship senator Magnus Abe and Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike even though they are in different political parties now cannot expose as they are covered by the Oath of Secrecy officially administered to Government Officials not make public certain inner businesses of government which will bring the Government to public opprobrium and disrepute. So, it becomes rub my back and I will rub yours should Governor Wike in 2023 hand-over the realms of Rivers state political power to distinguished senator  Magnus Ngei Abe which is already fait accompli . Thus the choice of Brother Felix Obuah picking a governorship ticket in 2023 is far remote even though the future is pregnant as no-one knows what tomorrow will bring, it near impossible for Governor Wike to ignore the Ogoni factor in terms of their clamour for having a governor in the possible nearest future.
