There is disquiet over the overture by the leader of All Progressives Congress-APC in Rivers State Rt. Honourable Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for the members and supporters of APC in Rivers state to liaise and align with African Action Congress-AAC in the Saturday, March 9, 2019 governorship and House of Assembly elections. The authentic chairman of Rivers state Chapter of All Progressives Congress-APC Comrade Peter Odike JP in reaction to the alleged issuance of instruction by Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi to members of APC in Rivers state to cast their votes for the governorship candidate of African Action Congress-AAC Biokpomabo Awara and other candidates of AAC in the Rivers state House of Assembly elections in the 32 state constituencies. On 6th of March, 2019 the Rivers state APC chairman Comrade Odike in his Special Public Announcement said “The attention of The All Progressives Congress-APC, Rivers state chapter has been drawn to a directive from the Minister of Transportation, Amaechi to members of the party in the state to vote for African Action Congress-AAC in the Governorship and House of Assembly election on Saturday 9th, March 2019. I Prince Peter Odike , JP, the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Rivers State chapter. On behalf of the State Working Committee of the Party hereby calls on all members and supporters of the party in Rivers state to discountenance the said directives of Chuibuike Rotimi Amaechi.
“Let me inform Our members and supporters that the matter of All Progressives Congress-APC in Rivers state is presently pending before the Supreme Court and that the party never held any meeting in which the decision to enter into any alliance with any other party was reached. Let it also be known that the Minister for Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi is completely acting as an individual on this matter. Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi cannot play the Ostrich and cannot be allowed to be next governor of Rivers state through the back door after attempting to destroy the All Progressives Congress- APC, in the state.
I am therefore calling on all faithful members and Supporters of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State to continue to remain steadfast and to maintain their faith in the Supreme Court of Nigeria to restore our candidates on the ballot for the Governorship and House of Assembly Elections in Rivers state.”
www.towncrier.ng gathered that before this time around the leader of the party in Rivers state Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi singlehandedly without undergoing party primaries of African Actions Congress-AAC, assigned offices to his followers such as appointing Dr. Chidi Lloyd as Director General of the AAC Governorship Candidate Campaign Organization, Hon. Ogbonna Nwuke as the Party’s Spokesperson while Chris Finebone the former Press Officer Publicity of APC in Rivers State now as AAC party Publicity Secretary, Ojukaiye Flag-Amachree as the State Party Chairman which the APC Rivers State former Secretary Mr. Emeka Bekee is alleged to have objected instead appointed himself as the Chairman of AAC in Rivers state his agitation may not be far-fetched from the fact that the AAC governorship Candidate Awara hails from Kula town in Akuku Toru in Rivers State. While the office of State Party Legal Officer is allegedly being battled by two lawyers one Mr. Lawrence and another Mr. Chizi Nyeomasila as it is unconfirmed which of the duo is being picked by Amaechi as at the time of going to Press.
Those that are scrambling around for a new vehicle are
equally missing the point. By their actions they have shown Nigerians that they
have neither the faith nor the resilience to lead this country to success.
Whatever new vehicle they produce now will still have
human challenges and may face the same storms that the APC is facing today if
that happens tomorrow what will they do? Will they jump off again and begin to
search for another vehicle.”
