Revealed-Rivers Popular Politician Azubuike Nmerukini’s Political Dynasty’s Downfall
-HOW HIS FAMILY DOMINATES RIVERS HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY PORT HARCOURT CONSTITUENCY 3
There are indications that the once bubbling political dynasty of Rebisi Ikwerre born politician chief Azubuike Nmerukini is at its eclipse. This is coming from the outburst of his constituents who are seriously affected with alleged poor misrepresentation by himself and his children. First is the fact that since 1999 and beyond chief Azubuike Nmerukini has been a life chairman of popular Mile3 Ultra Modern Motor Park located inside Port Harcourt city where all members of National Union of Road Transport Workers –NURTW surreptitiously surrender allegiance to him as all revenues accruing there from are under the watch of his family members especially under the daily watch of his junior sibling.
And in 1999 Chief Azubuike Nmerukini contested Port Harcourt Local Government election under Peoples Democratic Party –PDP primaries with Prince Nnamdi Wokekoro now late the then Leader of Abali Motor Park Mile One Diobu Port Harcourt. Finally Chief Azubuike Nmerukini was defeated by young smart Prince Nnamdi Nwokekoro. But chief Nmerukini defected to United Peoples Party-UPP with the platform he contested the Mayor of Port Harcourt election that he lost. Undaunted with that electoral failure Chief Azubuike Nmerukini contested Rivers state House of Assembly Constituency-3 elections which he won. From there in 2003 he contested for the Chairmanship position of Port Harcourt under PDP which he also won. From there he was appointed Chairman Rivers state Local Government Service Commission in 2015.
His son is the Head of Personnel Management and Administration -HPM at Obio/Akpor Local Government Area is the richest Local Government area In Rivers state. Again his daughter is the chairperson of National Union of Local Government Employees—NULGE in Rivers state. Similarly, his son Chimeka Nmerukini has been appointed in Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Nwike’s Cabinet as member of N200m monthly empowerment.

The Rivers state House of Assembly Constituency-3 elections which took place on Saturday 14th August, 2018 had Honourable Chimeka Nmerukini on the ballot paper as candidate for Peoples Democratic Party-PDP against his father’s former political Aide Sir, Chief Dickens Worlu of All Progressive Congress-APC. The outcome of that election remained inconclusive as Independent Electoral Commission –INEC suspended the process. But from the unofficial raw data indicate that Sir, Chief Dickens Worlu was cruising home with victory. With this outcome the people of Port Harcourt Constituency -3 had rejected chief Azubuike’s political dominance In the area. The Port Harcourt state House of Assembly constituency-3 seat was vacated by Honourable Victor Ihunwo popularly called VOKOR who resigned and contested for Port Harcourt city Mayor Local Government election which he was declared winner and quickly sworn into office along side with 22 others across the 23 Local Government Areas of Rivers state. Honourable Victor Ihunwo was leading the Mile 3 Motor Park under the tutelage of Chief Azubuike Nmerukini who is his mentor and political leader.
