A former Minister of Sports and Special Duties, Prof. Taoheed Adedoja, has said the PDP won’t survive if party leaders and delegates make wrong choices at the December 9 convention.
Adedoja, who is one of the contenders for the office of the party’s national chairman also said party members should shun anything detrimental to the party, adding that the PDP need to get it right at the convention in order to reclaim power in 2019.
Speaking with newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday shortly after submitting his expression of interest and nomination forms, Prof. Adedoja said whoever is planning a parallel convention should have a rethink in the interest of the nation.
“If the convention is not done right, there will not be PDP in 2019. I believe we must give Makarfi’s team that chance to do its work.
He however, warned that if the South-West is not allowed to produce the next national chairman of the party, there would be consequences.
Also, a former Finance Minister, who is running for the office of national secretary, Senator Nenadi Usman, warned against imposition of candidate at the convention.
A former governorship aspirant in Lagos State and aspirant for Deputy National Women Leader, Chief Remi Adiukwu, also called for a level playing field for all aspirants to avoid chaos.
