PDP suspends Tinubu’s ally Chimaroke Nnamani, Fayose, Chris Ogbu, others

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has approved the suspension of Senator Chimaroke Nnamani (Enugu State) and Chief Chris Ogbu (Imo State) with effect from today, Friday, January 20, 2023.

They were suspended over allegations of anti-party activities.

Nnamani was in September 2022 included in the presidential campaign council of Bola Tinubu and APC.

It was first regarded as an error but APC defended Nnamani’s inclusion, describing the PDP senator as a very close friend of Tinubu.

Nnamani’s name was later removed from APC’s PCC list but the senator is believed to be working for Tinubu’s success behind the scene.

Speaking on his suspension and that of others, PDP said it was taken after a very extensive review.

The opposition party noted that the decision was also pursuant to the provisions of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017).

In the same vein, the NWC also approved the suspension of some party members in Ekiti State.

The suspended members in Ekiti State are;

  1. Ayeni Funso -(Ekiti North)
  2. Ajijola Lateef Oladimeji -(Ekiti Central)
    Others are;
  3. Emiola Adenike Jennifer -(Ekiti South II)
  4. Ajayi Babatunde Samuel -(Ekiti North II)
  5. Olayinka James Olalere -(Ekiti Central)
  6. Akerele Oluyinka -(Ekiti North I)
  7. Fayose Oluwajomiloju John -(Ekiti Central I)

The PDP, however, urged all leaders, critical stakeholders, and teeming members of the party across the country to remain united and focused on the mission to rescue, rebuild and redirect Nigeria from misrule.
