PDP BOT members, Wike in close door meeting in Govt. House

By Ibrahim Bakare.

Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Board of Trustees, BOT, led by former Senate President, Senator Adolphus Wabara are locked in a crucial closed door meeting with Governor Nyesom Wike and his team at Government House, Port Harcourt.

A source at Government House, Port Harcourt, the venue of the meeting, said Governor Wike had insisted that the meeting be covered by the media, but members of the Board of Trustees said Journalists should excuse them and would be briefed about the outcome of the crucial meeting.

Before members of the media were asked to leave the hall the decision whether Journalists should be present or be briefed later was thrown open.

However, the decision that it should be a closed door meeting and Media briefing thereafter had upper hand.

The PDP BOT members were said to have arrived at about 12.30pm.

It would be recalled that Wike and his group have been insisting that the national Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu should resign with allegations he is not to be trusted for saying something and keeping it.

Wike and his four other Governors also said it was not fair that the National Chairman and the Presidential Candidate should be from the North, while the South is excluded.
