Residents of Oyigbo, in Oyigbo Local government area of Rivers State have cried for help to Governor Nyesom Wike to rescue them from the poor state of the road that causes flood.
Each time it rains they are trapped  them inside their homes each time it rains.

Some of the residents complained that businesses  are grounded to a halt with each rainfall in oyigbo  because they don’t have roads.

A concerned Oyigbo Indegene and good governance advocate, Okpute  Victor pointed out it is so terrible that the road leading to several multinational oil companies, Afam Power Station, The Rivers Processing Company limited and the local government headquarters Secretariat is also in a sorry State. More affected are  the conditions of the internal street roads in both Oyigbo Urban Areas and the Rural communities.  He queried the roles of government at Local, State and Federal if the basic needs of the citizens is neglected and the survival of the people jettisoned.
“I wonder  why would the environments in oyigbo be allowed to be in these degrading conditions”.Some portions of Oyigbo road.

Ironically, the Chairman of the ruling party, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ambassador Desmond Akawor  in the state hails from Oyigbo.
