Only Kolade Alabi Of Bariga Has Automatic Ticket For Lagos LG Election As GAC Orders Direct Primary For All Aspirants

The Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) may have decided that only the Chairman of Bariga Local Council Development Area, Kolade David Alabi, will get the automatic ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the coming local government election in the state, www.towncrier.ng can exclusively report.

This medium learnt that the body took the decision on the prompting of the GAC Chairman and National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu during its meeting on Tuesday, 20 April, 2021.

TC learnt that the GAC also decided that all aspirants for chairmanship and councillorship aspirants including the incumbents seeking reelection would go through a direct primary involving all members of the party.

This medium learnt that the body took the decision to return Kolade Alabi because of his exalted position as the National President of the All Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON),

It was also reported that the GAC decided on the direct primary due to several complains over the dismal performance of most of the current council chairmen in the state.

“Only few of them performed well hence the decision to allow those seeking reelection to face the party members in the primary. The case of Kolade Alabi was an exception because of his position as the National President of ALGON,” our source added.
