There was clash between the Police and people suspected to be members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, leading to the death of a Policeman today in Oyigbo in Oyigbo local Government area of Rivers State.

It was gathered that the clash led to the attack of Special Anti-Robbery Station in Oyigbo, an Oyigbo local government area of Rivers State.
Eyewitnesses said chaos started on Wednesday night 30th September 2020 at Oyigbo boundary between Rivers and Abia state as hoodlums suspected to be proscribed IPOB members reportedly abducted and killed a Police Officer attached to Special Anti-robbery Squad(SARS) headquarters in Port Harcourt .
The abducted officer was said to be on special duty at Oyigbo reportedly took permission from his Boss to look for something to eat about 9:30pmĀ when he was abducted and taken to a bush path and slaughtered by his killers.
It took the combined efforts of officers attached to tactical units like Operation Sting, Anti-Cultism and others to curtail the rampaging hoodlums who later reiteratedĀ into a neighbouring Abia state.Ā
Meanwhile, the spokesman of the Rivers state command SP Nnamdi Omoni confirmed the incident, noted that the full details of the incident is yet to reach his desk.
Ā Rivers State Police command, had through a statement signed by its Spokesman SP Nnamdi Omoni in miscreants orĀ acting in the guise of proscribed IPOB members to stay off the state or face the full wrath of the law.Ā
