Critic, Reno Omokri has attacked former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili over his attack on Lagos State Government for demolishing defective structures at Alaba International Market.
Omokri said the same Ezekwesili had remained silent over Friday’s protest by hundreds of traders in Anambra against the government’s ongoing demolition of their shops.
He said Ezekwesili, who hails from Anambra, has remained quiet, “very quiet indeed. Even where those affected included widows.
“But when the Lagos State Government was to demolish a few structurally defective buildings, whose owners refused to correct them despite warnings from the Government since 2017, Oby accused LASG of targeting Igbos and asked the Governor to publish a list of the ethnic nationalities of all those whose properties have ever been demolished by the LASG.
“Why is Oby silent when things happen in the Southeast and loud when it happens elsewhere? This is the same Oby that has also not condemned the killing of US embassy personnel by unknown gunmen in her state and close to her local government on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.
Does that mean she approves of the killings? Would Oby have been silent if this happened in Kano or Bauchi?”
According to Omokri, this is the same Oby that danced naked in the streets when Deborah Samuel was burnt to death in Sokoto, but had remained silent till today after a pregnant Northerner from Adamawa, Harira Jubril, was killed in her home state of Anambra by unknown gunmen in broad daylight, with her four underaged daughters, Fatima, 9; Khadijah, 7; Hadiza, 5; and Zaituna, 2.
“The same Oby Ezekwesili that rolled on the floor of Aso Rock over #BringBackOurGirls. Yet, Oby never condemned the killing of Ahmed Gulak on May 31, 2021.
“Oby will always cover anything that happens in the Southeast and blow out of proportion things that occur elsewhere,” he said
Omokri warned Ezekwesili to just focus on her career as an IPOB apologist and stop gaslighting Lagosians.
