NEW SIM FUBARA SUPPORT GROUP DEBUTS IN RIVERS

A new political support group for Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State known as Stakeholders for Democracy and Good Governance (SHDG) has debuted in the state.

In its inaugural meeting at Geodec Guest House in Igwuruta Town in Ikwerre Local Government Area of the state on Wednesday, the group commended Governor Fubara on his numerous achievements in the state within the one year he has piloted the ship of the state.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after the meeting, chairman of the group, Barr Benjamin. N. O. Jiji said that the aims and objectives of the group is to support the governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, who apart from liberating Rivers State from the shackles of dictatorship and tyranny, has shown that he is a democrat and a matured leader who is prepared to take the state to the next level of development.

He further said that the meeting, during its deliberations, “congratulated the governor over his electoral victory at the Supreme Court.

“The meeting also congratulated the governor’s Chief of Staff, Chief (Dr) Edison Ogaranye Ehie over his legal victory where an Abuja Federal High Court vacated the arrest warrant issued against him by the Inspector General of Police.”

Also speaking after the meeting was the group’s Board of Trustees (BOT) chairman, Pastor (High Chief) Standfast Robinson (JP) who commended the state Governor over his peaceful stance in the political crisis ravaging the state and advised him to continue same for the sake of Rivers State.

Highlight of the meeting was the election of the group’s executive officers with Barr Benjamin N. O. Jiji as chairman, Pastor (Dr) Christian Nneh as Secretary General and Memoye Oghu as the Public Relations Officer while Pastor (Mrs) Glory Anya and Rev (Dr) Melchizedek Nwonye emerged as Treasurer and Non Indigenes Coordinator respectively.

Pastor (High Chief) Standfast Robinson heads the group’s Board of Trustees (BOT) as chairman with Chief Nwafor Chibuike, Engr Raymond Sunday, Elder Njoku Emmanuel and Chief Godspower Omaranma as members.

The Executive Officers and the BOT members of the group will be inaugurated before the end of this month.
