In shopping for the Vice Presidential candidate of our APC flagbearer Asiwaju Bola Tinunu to beat the INEC dateline of submission of candidates, our great party must break the jinx and do away with this politics religion of a thing and go for competence for a perfect ticket to win.
I hear some people saying we shouldn’t try it. That this is not Abiola – Kingibe era. I disagree. Tinubu today can stands in for Abiola. While Buni or Zulum can stand for Kingibe to sweeps massive votes. I’m telling you its going to be a big win.
On this note, Governor Mai Mala Buni and Babagana Umara Zulum can make a good VP to break Atiku from the Northeast zone and swings the votes across Northern states. Buni and Zulum are nationally recognised and accepted because of their attitudes and views; they are well experience, and believe in good governance. They have compassion and believe in social justice.
The APC can share the power positions like the Senate President, Speaker, SGF with other Zones to carry along everyone on board the Asiwaju Ticket. Everybody should be given a sense of belonging and representation in the power sharing formula.
I can argue for the Northeast to produce the VP. Its probably the most marginalised and neglected part of Nigeria with Boko Haram its totally devastated. The Northeast can still produce the Vice President to push holistically the resotration and rebuilding of the region after years of Boko Haram.
Coming back to the issue of religion. Kaduna, is one of the sensitive place but Governor El-Rufai summoned the courage and the jinx has been broken. Nobody thought its going to be possible. But that is the best government doing wonderful transformation in Kaduna today. APC can copy the El-Rufai and do the needful.
Let’s also take note of the fact that in the South West, they don’t focus on religion. Most of the South West political leaders have their wives and children practicing religion of their choices.
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is peacefully at home with Christian leaders and his wife Ms Oluremi is a renowned Pastor of RCCG. Hopefully, respected Prof. Yemi Osinbajo will join the campaign and make an appearance at RCCG’s night vigil with Tinubu or Ebute Metta parish.
