Mgbuesilaru People Rejoice With Ihunwo …As Monarch Slams Tony Okocha’s Laquacious Comments

The people of Mgbuesilaru Community in Obio/Akpor, mostly women, youths, elders and men from Ward 2, defied the evening downpour for a solidarity outing with their son, Amb.Chijioke Ihunwo as he made an heroic and gratis visit to the palace of Eze Ejikeme Wali, the Nyewe Eli of Mgbuesilaru Community.

The visit had in attendance the ‘Who Is Who’ among politicians, technocrats, opinion and women leaders from the Community, even as thousand s of youths and women turned out in their numbers to grace the occasion.

Speaking at the event, the leader of Ward 2, Barr. Evans Amadi lauded Amb. Chijioke Ihunwo for his developmental strides and his support for the Community, especially in the fixing of son’s and daughters of the Community in juicy position in the the Local Government and the State.

Barr. Amadi explained that the contributions of Amb. Ihunwo have helped the Community immensely, especially in terms of some laudable projects in Obio/Akpor LGA, even as he solicited for the empowerment of more women through business grants and soft loans to enable them boost their businesses and the full take of the Eliohani Market that was constructed during administration of Hon. Able Ekeh as the Obio/Akpo Council Chairman.

Barr. Amadi, who did not hide his goodwill towards the women folks also used the opportunity to assure Ihunwo of their readiness to return him as the elected Chairman of the Council in the forthcoming Local Government Council elections.

Responding, Amb. Chijioke Ihunwo thanked the people of Ward 2 for their show of love and solidarity, reiterating that all their requests have been well received and would be duly honoured while promising to visit the market by next Tuesday to see things for himself.

Mr.Ihunwo also used the occasion to thank the Monarch, Eze Ejikeme Wali for his constant affection, encouragement and support for his vision and aspirations, and promised to reciprocate at the appropriate time.

Earlier, The Nyewe Eli of Mgbuesilaru Community, Eze Ejikeme Wali lauded the women and the people for their show of love and massive support for Amb. Ihunnwo, stressing that as long as there is life, he would continue to do his best to ensure Amb. Ihunwo is elected as Obio/Akpo Chairman because he has worked for it.

“I will do everything within my power. Amb. Chijioke has worked hard for it and he deserves the position. He is also our son, a man of the people and a very humble leader who is always willing to serve the people selflessly,” he stated.

The royal father equally used the occasion to refute the claim by the Rivers State Representative on the Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chief Tony Okocha about the visit by Ogbakor Ikwerre to Governor Siminalayi Fubara at Government house in which it was alledged that “Okocha had said the people were of unknown identity” .

Eze Wali further explained that he wished the Ogbakor Ikwerre had used the occasion to plead on behalf of the people concerning the behavior of the immediate past Governor, Nyesom Wike, especially his vindictive, obstinate and dictatorial attitude, even as he called on Chief Okocha to retrace his steps as per some of his puerile and preposterous action.
