Members of Christian community endorse Governor Okowa for 2nd tenure

Members of the Christian Community in Delta numbering millions of eligible voters have endorsed Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for a second tenure based on excellent performance and his love for God.

 

 

The President of the religious group Reverend Cyril Okoyen announced the endorsement when he led the State and local government executive of the body on a prayer courtesy visit to the state Chairman of the PDP Olorogun Kingsley Esiso at the party’s Secretariat in Asaba.

 

 

Reverend Okoyen said the group decided to throw their weight behind the incumbent Governor because he has dotted the entire local government areas and wards with landmark projects and empowerment.

 

 

To further prove their total support for the Governor, the clergy man said they have all collected their Permanent Voters Cards PVC in readiness for the election emphasizing that they will on a latter date come to the party’s Secretariat in their numbers with their PVC to declare their support for Senator Okowa.

 

 

While saying that the present administration has endeared itself to Deltans, Reverend Okoyen called on believers to run for elective positions as the era of sitting on the fence was over.

 

 

The Executive Assistant to the Governor on religious Matters Bishop Greatman Nmalagu said Governor Okowa is a good product that won the heart of all including those in opposition parties with his giant strides in all sectors.

 

 

Bishop Nmalagu said despite the economic downturn the Governor took the bull by the horn by embarking on massive construction of roads, underground drainage to tackle erosion in Asaba and its environs, upgrade of the Asaba airport, renovation of hospitals and schools, the fight against poverty through job creation, empowerment of widows and agricultural revolution for food sufficiency.

 

 

He advocated for peace among PDP members to enable it achieve set goals in the Electoral processes adding that the Christian Community will not relent in its prayers for the present administration in Delta.

 

 

The State Chairman of the PDP Olorogun Kingsley Esiso thanked the group for their foresight in the endorsement of the Governor and assured them of robust relationship.

 

 

Olorogun Esiso said the wish of majority will prevail in the party’s primaries emphasizing that the era where unpopular candidates were forced on the people was over.

He called on eligible voters that were yet to register or collect PVC from INEC to hasten up to enable them vote for Governor Okowa and other candidates of the party in the forthcoming general elections.

 

 

The occasion witnessed by state Executive of the PDP featured special prayers for the Governor, his cabinet, Deltans and the leadership of the ruling party.
