Melu-Bari Anchors Renewed Hope Agenda At FCE Eha -Amufu

The new Governing Council Chairman of Federal College of Education, Eha-Amufu in Enugu State, Hon. Prince Melu-bari Akekue has anchored President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda at the tertiary institution.

He promised to deliver on the president’s mandate for the institution during his maiden visit to the institution last August 14, 2024.

The Governing Council Chairman, in his remarks while meeting with the College Management team expressed his appreciation to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the privilege given him to serve as Chairman of the Institute’s Governing Council.

While commending the president for his magnanimity in the appointment, the chairman vowed to exercise his functions in line with “Mr. President’s RENEWED HOPE AGENDA of affordable and quality education for Nigerians.”

He further enjoined the College Management to note that he has come to the College as a pilgrim, stressing that they should recognize that he is going to use the opportunity to collaborate with the Federal Government, most especially the Honourable Minister for Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman and other federal agencies to tackle security concerns and the over three decades problem of lack of access to portable water supply to the campus as students are faced with no other option than relying on stream water and commercial water sources.

He applauded the Provost and her team for their strides in administration and solicited that they join hands together in moving the College to greater height.

Hon. Melu-bari Akekue reiterated his stand to introduce a new paradigm of ‘Let us do this together” and not the usual, “I will do this”, “I will do that”.

“Let us work as a team because we can do it. The places people call bush yesterday are now transformed by humans to cities. We can make a change, let us be the ones that will make the change. Let us shine the light from here,” he said.

In her separate remarks, Provost of the College, Prof. (Mrs.) Pauline Ngozi Ikwuegbu thanked God for granting journey mercies to the Council Chairman and his team and pledged the commitment of her Management to partner and harmoniously work with the Governing Council to achieve more academic and administrative excellence for the Institution.

The Provost equally declared her readiness to collaborate with the Council for more rapid growth of the Institution.

Hon. David Makama; Ledua Zor-Akekue Esq., the Vice Chairman Young Lawyers Forum, NBA, Port Harcourt Branch and Hon. Genesis Israel accompanied the Governing Council chairman on the maiden visit.
