The issue concerning if the former senator Representing Rivers South East Senatorial District, senator Magnus Abe, is likely to defect to the ruling peoples Democratic Party, PDP ,in Rivers state is still generating much fora and controversy around the political space in the state.
Currently, Senator Magnus Abe appears not to be too firm in any of the major political parties even though, in Rivers state ,one of the factions of the All Progressive Congress, APC, led by Hon. Ben Golden Chioma is claiming to be the right side senator Abe’s is pitching it’s tent with.
Recalled that in 2015, the ambition of senator Magnus Abe, caused the APC its fortune in a bit to that years elections …giving the fact that the former senator was locked in a bittered quarrel with his erstwhile friend and former boss Mr. Rotimi Ameachi, now a minister at the federal level.
Senator Abe, is strongly touted as a possible governorship contender with speculations pointing that he may likely succeeds the incumbent governor Nyesom Wike.
Abe, since living his former position as the Secretary To State Government, (SSG), has been in the news in one political race to another.
So far, the issue of upland and Riverine dichotomy has becomes a Major sources of controversy that has surround the political system in the state and is likely one area that may favour the former senator in his bid to contest the governor seat come 2023.
