Eric Olusesan/Port Harcourt

The Presidential Candidate of Labour Party and the former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi has been invited by Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State to Commission Nkpolu-Oroworukwo flyover bridge in Port Harcourt.

Our Correspondent reports since Wike's invitation of Obi surfaced online and the date of Commissioning slated for Thursday, November 17,2022, the political atmosphere has been in frenzy.

Political observers believe that the invitation of Peter Obi is one of Governor Wike's political mind games against the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP, and it's presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar who has vowed not to support until Iyorchia Ayu, the national chairman resigns.

Recall the Ikoku Flyover, Port Harcourt, Rivers State that is now completed was awarded to Julius Berger Plc on March 2, 2021 at Government House Port Harcourt given 12 months period for completion. But with Commissioning slated for Thursday, November 17, it therefore means that it took less than Nine months to complete.
However, the invitation of Peter Obi an opposition party presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, to commission the project is being interpreted by his supporters, especially the "Obident" as an endorsement of his candidature as against Atiku Abubakar of PDP.
