I May Be Arrested, My Hospital Sealed For Supporting Atiku in Rivers — Former Commissioner

A former Commissioner for Employment in Rivers State, Dr Leloonu Nwibubasa, has raised alarm about plans by the Rivers State Government to arrest him and seal off his hospital over alleged trumped claims that he treats suspected cultists. 

Dr. Nwibubasa a Medical Practitioner who is an ally of Senator Lee Maeba and a supporter of PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, says no amount of threat can stop him from exercising his freedom of association. 

Dr. Nwibubasa also narrated how the Chairman of Khana Local Government Area, Thomas Bariere, allegedly sent thugs to invade a pro-Atiku meeting that held in Bori on Sunday. 

A private facility allegedly belonging to the Senator Lee Maeba,(Senator Lee Meaba Diabetic Foundation) located opposite the Divisional Police Station in Bori, headquarter of Khana local government area allegedly uncovered as hideout for Criminals.

Thugs were led by the Chairman of PDP Khana local government area,Lenebari Inaania.

The PDP Chairman defended the invasion with the excuse that the leadership of the party in the State seriously frowned at the gathering as the agenda was not known. 

When contacted, the Chairman of Khana Local Government Council, Thomas Bariere, said the interest of the government is to maintain peace and security of the area and that the Police are investigating the matter.

The National Mandate Group, an organization registered in nigeria to promote good governance and promoting the Presidential flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was disrupted on Sunday 21st August 2022 in Bori by thugs associated with the Khana Local Government Chairman, Dr Thomas Bariere.

The Party Chairman, Lenebari Inaania said that he was directed by the Council Boss to stop the meeting. That the agenda for the meeting ,” mobilising the grassroots for Atiku  is offensive to the leadership of the party in the state. 

The  meeting was said to have been held in a private facility belonging to the  Senator Lee Maeba,(Senator Lee Meaba Diabetic Foundation) located opposite the Divisional Police Station in Bori, headquarter of Khana local government area with the Department of State Service, DSS office, and Chairman’s Lodge adjacent to it.

The property used for the meeting now said to be a hide out to Senator Lee Maeba Diabetic Foundation had also been marked for demolition.  

It would be recalled  that on Sunday the Khana Local Government Council, Chairman, Thomas Bariere, was said to have uncovered a hideout allegedly used for illegal meetings and activities in Bori.

The  Convener of the meeting was the former Commissioner for Employment Generation and Economic Empowerment, Dr Leloonu Nwibubasa and Spokesman of National Mandate Group in Rivers  State.                             

It is important to note that Governor Nyesom Wike State has  vowed that he will deal with the “Political enemies” of the State who decide to ally with those that do not regard Rivers State and it’s people.

At the time of filing this report, the Rivers State Police Command was yet to comment on the discovery of the Senator Lee Meaba Diabetic Foundation building as hideout for Criminals.
