I Defeated Tinubu To Emerge As Senate President – Saraki

A former Senate President, Dr Bukoka Saraki, said he defeated the “Emperor of Bourdillon”, referring to former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to become the senate president in 2015.

Saraki stated this when he met with delegates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos, appealing to them to support his 2023 presidential ambition.

Recall that Saraki, then a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), emerged as senate president in 2015 against the preferred candidate of the party and that of Tinubu.

According to Saraki, he defeated the Emperor of Bourdillon, making reference to Tinubu and presidential hopeful, he would help the party reclaim the state in 2023.

He said PDP became united in Lagos, Plateau, Ogun and Oyo through the reconciliatory effort he spearheaded.

Saraki also said the move by the executive to remove him as senate president failed because he was a team player and his colleagues had confidence in him.
