Gov. Wike Bans Street Hawking, Street Prostitution, Night Clubs in Port Harcourt

Governor Nyesom Wike has announced a ban on the operation of night clubs and street prostitution on Abacha Road and other major streets across the state.
Wike, who disclosed this in his New Year message, said such activities causes noise and traffic nuisance in the state in the state capital.

He said no responsible government should tolerate the open display of sexual party, street prostitution, drug trafficking and other illegal activities.

He also placed a ban on night time trading along Abacha road, street prostitution, adding that it is geared towards putting an end to the harmful effect on the development of children and the state at large.

He urged residents to obey the directives as anyone found wanting will be prosecuted in accordance with the laws of the state.
