GOV FUBARA SUPPORT GROUP INAUGURATES OFFICERS

By – Memoye Oghu

The new political support group for Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, the Stakeholders for Democracy and Good Governance (SHDG) has inaugurated its officers with a mandate to change the political narrative in the country from dishonesty to one with integrity, transparency and fairness.

Performing the inauguration of the group’s Board of Trustees (BOT) and Executive Officers at the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) multi-purpose hall in Port Harcourt, capital of Rivers State on Saturday, a Patron of the group, Ehie Bishop charged officers of SHDG to preach Gov Siminalayi Fubara’s message of integrity, honesty and transparency in governance with a view to changing the political narrative in the state and country at large.

Ehie, who lamented on how politicians have turned the noble profession of politics into a dirty game, emphasized that the narrative must change and told members of the group that they would be responsible to bring about that change.

“Decent people with integrity must come into politics for a paradigm shift and we must emulate those qualities from our dear governor who has started the campaign through his actions in governance in the state,” he urged them.

The BOT chairman of the group, Rev(High Chief) Standfast Arugu Robinson, in his speech told the massive crowd that trooped out to witness the inauguration that SHDG is established to propagate the virtues of integrity, honesty and transparency that have so far “been exhibited by Gov Siminalayi Fubara, particularly in the face of the continuous unprovoked and unwarranted attacks by his political enemies.

“These virtues have also led to increment in the state internally generated revenue from N13 Billion to over N26 Billion. We will therefore continue to be students of the governor’s political school anchored on integrity.”

In his welcome address, National Coordinator of the group, Barr Benjamin N. O. Jiji urged members to remain steadfast and to continue to exhibit integrity, transparency and truthfulness in all their dealings as exemplified by the group’s grand Patron and the executive governor of the state.

Those inaugurated included Rev (High Chief) Standfast Arugu Robinson who is the National President and Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT) and Barr Benjamin N. O. Jiji who’s the National Coordinator as well as their respective officers.
