Gov. Emmanuel Udom hosts Atiku, Okowa, party stalwarts for presidential rally kick-off

Uyo, Akwa Ibom state capital stood still Sunday ahead of tomorrow’s flag off of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential rally.

The presidential flag bearer of the party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who flew in from Cairo, Egypt, via Abuja, the nation’s capital, in the evening, was treated to a rousing welcome by Governor Udom Emmanuel, who is also the Chairman of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organization (PCO); along with the Vice Presidential candidate, Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa of Delta state and his Sokoto state counterpart, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, the Director General of the PCO and the Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, lined up to receive Alhaji Atiku.

Visibly elated, Atiku, who was accompanied by the party’s National Chairman, Dr Iyorchia ASUU, shook hands and exchanged pleasantries with a broad spectrum of party leaders across the country, who were in Uyo for the Monday event.

The long motorcade of the ex-Vice President heralded by his host and chieftains of the party, snaked through the meanders of roads in the metropolis lined by jubilant citizens of the state, to his lodge.
