#ENDSARS: Leave Amaechi alone, face the youths your maladministration has left unemployed, Eze tells Wike

… Says attempt to link Amaechi to plots to cause mayhem is manifestation of fear by a rudderless administration

…Exposes why Wike sets up the Judicial Panel

BY IBRAHIM BAKARE

Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New People’s Democratic Party (nPDP), Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has absolved the Transportation Minister, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi and the All Progressives Congress, of any underhanded artifice to hide under the masthead of the ongoing #EndSARS protest to cause mayhem in the State, as alleged by the Rivers State government.

In a recent publication released in the late hours of Monday and signed by the Information Commissioner, Paulinus Nsirim, the State government accused the Transportation Minister and members of the Rivers APC of recruiting hoodlums in the guise of protesters, to commandeer the peaceful demonstration scheduled for Tuesday, 20 October, and twirl the process into a scene of anarchy in a bid to stir-up crisis, incite the public and discredit the PDP/Wike led administration.

Excerpt from the announcement reads: “Rivers State Government has received intelligence report that the Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi-led faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) wants to capitalize on tomorrow’s #EndSARS protest to cause the destruction of lives and property in the state”.

“The recruited protesters who would carry placards with inscriptions: ‘#EndSARS’ and ‘End Unemployment’ have been fully mobilized to cause the planned mayhem…”, the report added.

Dismissing the claim as a crafty artifice and strategic maneuver of the state government to divert attention from the popular demand of Rivers people for a responsive and proactive governance, which the PDP and Wike have failed to provide, Eze said the sudden publication with its groundless accusations was borne out of guilty conscience given the fact that acute unemployment, endemic poverty and deep want have kept staring the people in the face six years into the Wike-led state government.

In a statement made available to media houses Wednesday, Eze said having performed very much below average in every indices of measurement, and given the sudden awakening of young people to demand good governance, official of the state government have gone berserk and haywire, shopping for safe landing from the wrath of angry Rivers youths who have been denied basic necessaries of life amidst the wealth the state has reaped in the past five years from massive investments in capital projects, federal allocations and internally generated revenues.

Condemning the allegation as a destitute of reality and only existing in the figment of the imagination of the purveyors, Eze described it as a smear campaign taken too far. “We scorn what is in itself contemptible and disgraceful”, he added.

The party chief hailed Rivers youths for defiling the orders of Gov. Wike, initially banning peaceful demonstrations in the state and trooping out en masse to make their voices heard, stressing that such action is a powerful response depicting the timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a determined people, adding that the action is enough signal to the Governor, of a looming revolt against his clueless, docile and anti-people government which derives pleasure in expensive cosmetics and luxurious publicity with no commensurate practical action.

it is painful and damning to note that the only legacy and feat for which the administration of Gov. Wike will be reckoned with is the enthronement of unemployment which has earned the state an embarrassing status as the capital of unemployment in Nigeria.

In Rivers State, it is luxury for civil servants to be paid salaries and emoluments; and favour for retirees to be given their pension allowances, whereas, officials of the state government are at liberty to indulge in gross fanfare of squandermania in their sheer extravagancy.

The party Chief counselled Gov. Wike, to take out time to reflect on the near irredeemable damages and embarrassments brought upon the state by his docility and cluelessness and how he can remedy them and return the state to her previous status hence he has failed to make any improvements.

Admonishing Wike, Eze highlighted that that Amaechi is a very busy person who doesn’t have time for your type of idle politics besides Amaechi has warned Nigerians about the current actions of our youths even when he was the Governor of Rivers State so how can he be a part of any plot to stop the Youths from what they are doing which is aimed for a better and greater NIGERIA, Eze queried.

Warning Gov. Wike and the PDP to desist from cooking up cocktails against the Transportation Minister in a bid to rub him in the mud, Eze appealed to Rt. Hon. Amaechi to remain focused in his onerous task of delivering appreciable services to Nigeria.

On the Judicial Panel set up by the Rivers State Government which major aim simply is targeted at given bad name to the opposition in order to cage them, Eze reinstated that this aim will still come to nothing as the just will never fear such a target. It is sad that setting up this premeditated Panel was a result of anger that the Youths peacefully conducted themselves contrary to the thinking of Gov Wike who was envisaging mayhem and chaotic situation in the State.
