DISSOLUTION OF BODO-CITY COUNCIL OF CHIEFS & ELDERS

The Paramount Ruler of Bodo City Gokana Local Government Area, Rivers State, HRH KING JOHN B.BEREBON (Gberedeela the 8th, Menebon Bodo-City), on Saturday 22nd August 2020, at a General Assembly held @ the town’s Square(Torgbo) dissolved  his Council of Chiefs and Elders with immediate effect.

The King also appointed Caretaker Committee members who will take charge and governed the Community until the seven Dynasties meet and nominate another sect of new members who will take charge.

The Paramount Ruler in his speech during the dissolution of the Council said “By the power confirmed on him as the King of Bodo-City, in Council after the expiration of three years in office hereby dissolved the Council members and in order not to have a vacuum, the caretaker committee members would act in the interim”.

He thanked the people of Bodo-City for supporting and cooperating with the outgoing Chiefs, for the past three years.

The Royal father finally charged the Youths and other members of the community to embrace the ongoing PEACE and reconciliation, for Progress and development in the community. He particularly told the Youths to reflect and moved away from Violence which can only destroy and not move the community forward.
