The announcement of the death of Rivers state Honourable Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Emmanuel Aguma SAN in a London hospital over cancer came to the Rivers state Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike like a thunder bolt. The reasons may not be unconnected with the roles played by late Honourable Emma Aguma the late son of late chief Emma Aguma his father a statesman and foremost politician in Eastern Region and Rivers state as he was instrumental to the emergence of Governor Wike as Peoples Democratic Party –PDP flag bearer on December 8th 2014. First he was the lead counsel in most of the court cases that saw to the emergence of Brother Felix Obuah as chairman of the party as against late Chief Godspower Umejuru Ake and with that legal victory the party structure was totally removed from the then sitting Governor of Rivers state Rt. Honourable Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi. And given the post primary Gubernatorial election legal actions late Emma Aguma was at hand to raise up teams of legal luminaries who joined him in facing the batteries legal actions which some of the aspirants put up such as that of Odein Henry Ajumogobia former Attorney General and Minister of Foreign Affairs, even the post Governorship election of April 11th 2015 against Dr. Dakuku Adol Peterside of All Progressive Congress-APC, still late Emma Aguma then as Senior Advocate of Nigeria-SAN defended Nyesom Ezenwo Wike stoutly even at Supreme Court of Nigeria with other Senior Advocates of Nigeria—SAN.

What many did not know is the behind the scene legal advice late Attorney General Emma Aguma was giving Governor Wike that helped to sustain his 3-years stay as executive Governor of Rivers state since May 29th, 2015. It was gathered that one of the correspondents the late commissioner for Justice handles was the legal advice he gave Governor Wike on the inquisition by the financial ombudsman – Economic and financial Crime Commission-EFCC of which the Rivers state executive Governor remained grateful but now lost amidst worrying for the days ahead of 2019 elections and asking his friends to help him shop for a capable replacement from the Ikwerre ethnic nationality who will be loyal and sharp enough with legal knowledge especially someone with Senior Advocate of Nigeria-SAN award by the Panel of Legal Privilege Committee of Nigeria.
