Cracks in Rivers Council Of Traditional Rulers

 

 

As the political tempo in Rivers state increases, it thus appears the stance for support among traditional rulers is now divided among pro Wike and his former political god son Siminalayi Fubara.

The political detour which is for and against and especially amongst those traditional rulers recognised during the administration of the immediate past Governor of the state Barr. Nyesom Wike and some of those recently recognised in the wake of the political crisis engulfing the state may have taken a new dimension.

So far, the political tension is even increasing with camps and blocs rising among each side in the political brouhaha engulfing the state.

Just recently, the incumbent Governor Siminalayi Fubara further recognised King Micheal Ateke Tom, erstwhile Niger Delta agitator and king of Okochiri in Okirika Local Government Area from its second class stool to first class, therefore and indirectly showing that there is crack in the system over whom the kings should be loyal to as event in the state continues.

Already the political happening in the state has further and sharply divided the kings in the manner that in advert placement the monarch are careful in the manner of any eventuality because of the style in which politics is played in state.

Recalled in 2015 a similar event played out where some traditional rulers divided over whom to support and whom not to.

While some of the traditional rulers divided and decided to follow the former Speaker Rotimi Amaechi who was equally a Governor, some decided to follow the direction of the immediate past Governor Barr. Nyesom Wike who is now the Minister of the Federal capital territory thereof making the political cum traditional politics a must watch in the oil -rich state.
