Exactly, two weeks after Chieftain of All Progressives Congress, APC, and his elder brother were killed by unknown gunmen, former Chairperson of Andoni local government in Rivers State, Mrs. Emilia Nte, was on Friday  night of March 8 kidnapped at gun point by unknown gunmen at her home in Uyeada also in Andoni local government area.

It was not clear whether the kidnap was politically motivated or a separate incident of kidnapping for pecuniary gains.

Information from credible sources from Andoni who does not want his name in print, confirmed the incident.

According to the source gunmen first shot her on the thigh before taking her away.

It was initially speculated that  she was dead. A close family member of the abducted politician had been corrected that she is still alive.

Andoni is the local government area of the Mr. Uche Secondus, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, National Chairman.

Mrs. Emilia Rogers Nte, has also served as a Special Adviser to Governor Nyesom Wike.

Insecurity continued over Andoni last night with shootings in Ngo, its headquarters. It could not be confirmed as of the time of this report who were responsible.

Attempts by our Correspondent in Port Harcourt to reach Rivers Police Command area yet to confirm the incident. The Spokesman of the Rivers state Police, DSP Nnamdi Omoni could not be reached for his reactions as his phone could not go through.

 However, this morning, there was calm as voters have begun to cast their ballots.

On the eve of the February 23 Presidential and National Assembly elections, gunmen stormed the home of Chief Mowan Etete a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Asarama, Andoni killing him and an elder brother.

Their bodies are yet to be recovered.

Dumo lulu Briggs of Accord Party votes.

In a separate development, Dumo Lulu Briggs, Governorship candidate of Accord Party in Rivers state has voted in Ward Four Unit One in Abonnema, Akuku-Toru local government area of the state.

A Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Thursday, sacked Mr. Dumo Lulu Briggs as the governorship candidate of Accord Party in the 2019 governorship election on March 9, 2019.

The court declared that Mr. Precious Baridoo, who was duly nominated during the October 4, 2018 Accord Party governorship primary is the authentic candidate of the party.

It is not immediately clear if he secured stay of execution of the judgment from Appeal Court where he has gone on appeal.

He commended INEC for improvement in the area of logistics, especially the early arrival of Electoral materials.

Some Journalists covering elections were held hostage at Ahoada West local government but later released by militants in military uniform after pleas and identifications. One of the Journalists included: Reporter with Nigeria Info, Cool fm, and WAZOBIA fm.
