Breaking: NDDC Director of Finance, Ibanga Bassey Etang is Dead

The Acting Executive Director of Finance of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Chief Ibanga Bassey Etang, is dead.

The Acting Director was reported dead on Thursday amid the Forensic Audit of the Commission ordered by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The National Assembly is also probing the finances of the Commission under its present Interim Management Committee.

Some of the tweet handle: “Sources are saying this death isn’t ordinary and that they suspect food poisoning.

“His body has been wheeled to the ‘Holding Area’, called ‘COVID-19 Area’, of Braithwaite Memorial Hospital, Port Harcourt.

“Whatever the intention is, we’ll find out soon.”

The Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC wrote on its social media page; “Following the sudden demise of the NDDC-Interim Management Committee’s ED, Finance and Administration, Chief Ibanga Etang on account of suspected COVID-19, all staff of the Commission are to proceed on 14 days self isolation beginning immediately.”
