Elder statesman, retired Major General David Medayese Jemibewon, has said stated that Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has the quality to become Nigeria’s President. During his recent interview on Asabe TV, the former Nigerian Minister analyzed prominent political figures who may contest during the 2023 Presidential election.
Addressing the topic, Jemibewon said, “I do not make these analyses in any particular order. I think Ex-President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is a good material, and he has gotten tested. He has been a governor and a Vice President. No blemishes are associated with his name, and He is not a novice. Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is also similar. Yemi Osinbajo is brilliant and competent. He is a Professor of law, and he knows the law. However, it is his business if he decides to do good or not. Osinbajo got trained to differentiate good from bad, and he has been attending international conferences for nearly nine years. I think he has the quality.”
Speaking further, he added, “I like how Dr. Akinwumi Adesina expresses himself authoritatively. Such authority emanates from knowledge. No authority can help if he lacks knowledge. However, he has not gotten tested in that position. It is not often that a person is lucky to get tested before getting there. Akinwumi Adesina’s performance so far makes it believable that he would perform if entrusted with the Presidency. Adesina has the knowledge, the understanding, and the comportment. However, Chief Bola Tinubu may not stand a chance among the array of people I have examined. I also want to state that there are other competent people in the country other than those I have examined.”
