The Action Peoples Party (APP) in Rivers State is set for a strong showing in the upcoming local government council elections slated for October 5, 2024.
This was revealed during a significant event held at the State Party Secretariat in Port Harcourt, where the inaugural morning devotion, tagged “APP with Jesus,” took place.
Hon. Sunny Wokekoro, the State Chairman, dedicated the Party Secretariat to God, expressing his commitment to providing a level playing field for all Rivers people aspiring to contest under the APP platform. He made it clear that the party is fully prepared to take on the upcoming elections and is determined to offer the right leadership in party politics across the state.
While addressing the recent bombing of the Party Secretariat, Hon Wokekoro said the incidence has turned into a rallying point for the party. “What they thought for evil by bombing the Party Secretariat has turned for good; it has endeared the Party to Rivers people, and there’s absolutely no turning back,” he stated with conviction.
The national legal adviser of the party, Barr. Odili, while speaking assured the Simplified Daughters of Rivers State, a group which paid a courtesy visit to the party, that the APP is not only ready for the council polls but is here to stay in Rivers State. He expressed confidence in the party’s ability to sweep the upcoming elections.
Hon. Wokekoro also used the opportunity to praise the Rivers State Governor, Sir. Siminalayi Fubara, for his outstanding performance in less than two years in office. He boldly extended an invitation for the Governor to consider joining APP, hinting at the possibility of greater synergy for the state’s progress.
In a related development, the State Chairman received the Supreme Council for SIM Worldwide in his office, further strengthening the party’s support base. Hon. Wokekoro urged all well-meaning citizens of Rivers State to come together in building a peaceful and prosperous land, signaling APP’s commitment to unity and progress.
With the October 5 elections around the corner, the Action Peoples Party is poised to make a significant impact, driven by a clear vision, strategic leadership, and unwavering faith.
The event was attended by top party executives, women leaders from across the 23 LGAs, and other key stakeholders, including the National Legal Adviser of APP, Barr. Henry Paul Odili.
