…Recieves Dr Henry Ogiri and other decampees to the PDP
Rivers State Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has explained that the All Progressive Congress has failed Nigerians. The Governor who stated this while receiving decampees from the APC at the Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party Secretariat said most people that still in the APC remain as a result of the shame of openly admiting to their failure and leaving the party.
The decampees who where from four LGAs in the state include the former Executive Director of Finance of the NDDC, Hon Dr Henry Ogiri from Abua/Odual LGA, Chief Lolo ibieneye of Asari Toru LGA, former Zonal Administrative Officer of the APC, Hon Gloria Boma of Degema LGA and Alhaji Hassan Douglas of Okrika LGA.
Urging all members of the PDP to unite and not discriminate against returning members Governor Wike said “Let us see ourselves as one not divide ourselves as people that came back yesterday.”
He said while the PDP was working hard to develop and defend the interest of the state, the APC has been unable to fulfil its promises to Rivers people.
He said “some people came to say if you give us your votes the East-West road would be done but it hasn’t been done.”
He also expressed dissatisfaction at the refusal of the APC Government to contribute it’s counterpart funding for the Bonny-Bodo as they do with other Federal projects. “Since they started the Bonny-Bodo road they haven’t finished it and haven’t released their counterpart funding. LNG has decided to build the road on their own and deduct the cost from their tax.”
