Amaechi, Abe Unite Against Wike —Ahead 2023

By Charles Berbercide

Following the appointment of Senator Magnus Abe into the Board of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, by President Muhammedu Buhari, there are strong indications that the former SSG and former National Assembly member, may reunite with former Governor of Rivers State Rotimi Amaechi, now minister of Transport to take power out of incumbent Governor of the state Bar. Nyesom Wike come 2023.

Although, the news of Abe’s appointment penultimate week, source said may have come too late, because to them senator Abe have work to sustained the party more than some of the people they accused that are calling themselves chieftains of the All Progressive Congress, APC members, adding that from indications they said, what has happened shows that president Buhari was aware of Abe‘s efforts in the nation to keep discipline with the party against all campaigns of calumny by his perceived political opponents in the state.

With Abe’s appointment so far, it thus appears the minister of Transportation Rotimi Ameachi may suspend their personal political interest and reunite against the interest of incumbent governor Nyesom Wike, which they believe must allow power to shift to other senatorial district in the state instead making the governance of the state an Ikwerres affair. Just last month, senator Abe has blasted incumbent Governor of the State of the demolishing of two hotels in Eleme Local Governor Area. Abe has said that despite the executive order of 6 and 8 the Governor should apply wisdom with human feelings concerning his actions.

But, Abes comment was not taken lightly by Governors wike supporters and loyalist who immediately hit back at senator Abe.

More so, the appointment of Abe is still coming to some political watchers and analysts as a surprise, because many at this point are confused about whose recommendation have led to the appointment. While many have speculated former Lagos state Governor Sentor Bola Tinabu, other are of the view of the former comrade Governor Adams, while scores also favour the Minister of Transport.

Plus or minus, Abes appointment is a strong indication that the political scenes in Rivers State is suddenly going to charge, the Town Crier has observed.
