Abuja Court orders substituted service as Tinubu’s in-law, Ojudu, others seek dissolution of Ekiti APC Wards, LGs, State Excos

A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered substituted service in the suit filed by some stakeholders in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, against the party’s Wards, Local Governments and State Executive Committees.

The court ordered that service be done by pasting the court processes on the walls of the APC State Secretariat in Ado Ekiti.

The suit was filed by Senator Babafemi Ojudu, Dr. Wole Oluyede, Hon. Oyetunde Ojo, Chief Akin Akomolafe, Engr Ayo Ajibade, Akogun Bunmi Ogunleye, Otunba Ben Oguntuase and others against the APC, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Inspector General of Police, State Chairman of the party, Mr. Paul Omotosho and all members of the State Executive Committee.

The plaintiffs are contending that the APC did not conduct Ward, Local Government and State Congresses in Ekiti State, and seeking declaration that the party’s Wards, Local Governments and State Executive Committee were holding office illegally.

When the matter came up today in the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, counsel to the plaintiffs, Senator Tony Adeniyi, told the Court that Paul Omotosho and others in the APC State Executive Committee have been evading service.

After listening to the submission of the counsel to the plaintiffs, the court granted the prayers and ordered that the substituted service by pasting the originating processes and other accompanied processes at Number 156, Ajilosun Street, Ado Ekiti secretariat of the APC.

The matter was adjourned till June 17, 2020 for report of service.
