The Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Abia state Hon.Uzor Nwachukwu,has praised the visionary and quality leadership style of Governor Dr.Alex Otti ,as a huge respite to the people of Abia that have been in dire need for good leadership
The Commissioner says the transformation and strategically upliftment of the state from darkness to a state of abundance is a blessing from God since its creation,Stressing that the examplary leadership qualities in projects and infrastructural delivery of Dr. Alex Otti administration across the local Government areas, demonstrated his love for the good people of the state.
Speaking to journalists in his office in Umuahia,Hon. Nwachukwu said, since the Governor took over in may,2023,the state has witnessed tremendous transformation and developmental strides in terms of projects and human capital development, explaining that the various roads network dotted in the state are visible sites that people could see ,while acknowledging that the projects across all parts of the state speaks very loud for the present administration.
The commissioner equally described the building of over 250 schools across all parts of the state as massive and unprecedented since it’s creation , emphasizing that before now schools and other projects in the state were nothing to write home about.
He disclosed that before now Abia state Teaching Hospital was moribund but hinted that as he speaks, the story has turned around for good as the Governor he said is in a hurry to fix the state,stressing that the ongoing foundation for the first medical college will spark development and create alot of investment opportunities.
Hon.Nwachukwu explained that the important of the dualization of some section of roads as well as construction of new ones, especially the Port Harcourt and Owerri roads that link the state will reduce the numbers of accident, insecurity and the man power lost and fastrack development to the state.
According to him, the insecurity challenges witnessed in parts of the state due to bad roads by previous administration is gradually and drastically reduce due to the efforts and bold stand by the Governor in ensuring that the right things is done at the right time for the people of the state.
Talking on the recently conducted local government election in state,The commissioner responded thus: ” my advise is that they should toe the path of the state governor and learn from him.They should equally focus on things that will benefit the people especially those at the grass root level.” He said.
