ABE EMERGES GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE OF SDP IN RIVERS STATE

Chief Senator Magnus Abe, former representative of the people of Rivers South-East in the Senate of the National Assembly today emerged the Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Rivers after polling 30 votes in the substitution primary election conducted by the party in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

The substitution primary, duly and fully monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as stipulated by the Electoral Act 2022 saw Abe, sole candidate in the primary poll a total of 30 votes to garner all the votes on offer in the primary.

Abe’s emergence is a prayer answered for overwhelming majority of Rivers people who were yearning for a formidable alternative to the ruling party in Rivers State.

There is already wild jubilation in Rivers State for this great news which has given Rivers people a viable alternative that will enable them express themselves in the democratic space.
