COVID-19: Buhari delivers Relief Materials to Bonny in Rivers

President Muhammadu Buhari  has delivered three trucks conveying 600 bags of rice, 500 gallons of vegetable oil and 1000 cartons of tin tomatoes, as relief materials on Friday August 14  in Bonny Island over the Covid-19 pandemic.

The food items were relief materials sent to the people of Bonny following Senator Betty Apiafa’s June 9th motion about the mysterious deaths in the Local Government Area and the need for NEMA to be mandated to send the people some relief.

In fulfilment of the Senate resolution of 11th June, NEMA provided the above listed items which were delivered to the LGA with logistics support from the senator and Council Chairman of Bonny LGA, Hon. David R. Irimagha.

Senator Apiafi in a statement thanked the federal government  through the  Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster management, Hajia Sadiya Farouq for providing the items.

She also expressed appreciation thanked Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for his proactive measure of he announced the lockdown of Bonny Island when the were mysterious deaths  escalated.
